Welcome to the Lane County Dental Society (LCDS) Home Page.

We are the professional organization for dentists in Lane County in Oregon. Organized in 1914, the Society has over 200 members. Approximately 80% of the dentists in Lane County are members of our society and, as such, are subject to our Peer Review System and Code of Ethics. All of our members are also members of the Oregon Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

The Society has a staffed central office to provide information on current dental issues, act as a liaison to the community, and serve as a support to our member dentists.

We also provide a referral service to the public at no cost. Member dentists are in good standing with the Lane County Dental Society, the Oregon Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. In addition, they:

1. Have agreed to go through a peer review process in the event that a patient has a question about the quality of care. Peer review is available to the public at no charge. The Peer Review Committee only mediates cases concerning member dentists.

2. Have agreed to complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years as required by the Oregon Board of Dentistry.

The Lane County Dental Society is organized to encourage the improvement of the health of the public, to promote the art and science of dentistry, and to encourage dental education. Through high quality continuing education programs, Lane County Dental Society members maintain their knowledge and skills to provide services at the highest level. Member dentists also participate in community dental events and support local programs including White Bird Dental Clinic and the Assistance League of Eugene's Children's Dental Center.
